シンガポールから再度マスクが届きました

政府はコロナウイルス感染者の増加が著しい兵庫、大阪、京都の3府県に緊急事態宣言を1月13日から発出することにしました。首都圏では緊急事態宣言がすでに発出されており、全国的にコロナ感染者が増え続けています。
こうした日本の現状に心を痛めているシンガポールから再びマスクが届きました。
一昨年、シンガポールで行ったテマセックの教師採用面接に来られたジャスリン・タンさんがテマセックの生徒さんやスタッフにと小包いっぱいのマスクを送ってくれました。
シンガポールでは1日の感染者が10数人から20人前後とほぼウイルスを押さえており、ワクチンの接種も始まっています。
ジャスリンさんは面接には合格されましたが、体調を崩されてテマセックへの赴任を延ばされています。早く体調が回復されることを祈っております。私たちも送られたマスクをつけて頑張ります。ありがとうございました。

The Japanese government had decided to extend the nation’s second state of emergency in Hyogo, Kyoto and Osaka prefectures as of 13 January 2021 due to the surge of infections in these areas. The capital region had already announced its second state of emergency with COVID-19 pandemic worsening throughout Japan. After learning about Japan’s situation, Ms. Jaslyn Tan, who attended our interview conducted in Singapore last year, sent us packs of masks for Temasek’s students and staff. COVID-19 is well controlled in Singapore with close to no community cases and vaccines had already started to roll out. We hope that the situation in Japan will be under control soon and we will do our best in taking measures against the infection with the received masks.
